Update 11-9-08
Just an update on Donna’s condition. The tumors in her liver have gown so large that they are displacing everything in her abdomen. She also has a lot of fluids that have built up in her abdomen and legs. This is from the size of the tumors in the liver that are putting pressure on one of her main arteries that handles blood flow to the lower body. She is having a lot of trouble breathing because of this as well and oxygen is helping. Another change is that she is constantly falling asleep. Part of this is due to the new medications she’s on to help her breathe. If you are calling to talk to her or visiting, you might need to do more of the talking because she gets out of breath easily. She is really enjoying the visits and calls though! Donna wants to hear from you but says to not be offended if she doesn’t take your call or talk long. Sometimes she’s asleep or is having trouble breathing and can’t talk but to keep trying. She also wants me to remind everyone that she is having a difficult time talking about her condition and gets very emotional about it. So, she would rather here about you and what you’re doing.
Well, I’ve been here at Donna’s again this week spending some special time together. I made Donna some banana bread and she loved it and ate so well! So I made more breakfast breads for the freezer for her to have every morning. She loved the smell of breads baking in the kitchen for days. We have also had fun going through photos, reminiscing and putting the photos in scrapbooks.
Donna with her favorite…Banana Pudding!
Donna wants everyone to know how much she appreciates all the calls, cards, flowers and visits. The calls and visits have helped the time pass by. I think she’s settled in with all the home care she’s receiving. The people have been amazing and so helpful and caring. It has taken a load off and allowed us more time with Donna. Our Mom has been here with Donna for two weeks now and will be staying for an indefinite time to help Donna out.
Dusty would like to say hi to everyone and he wants to thank everyone for praying for his Mom.
Love to all, Tina

Good morning Donna, Tina and Mom, I just got to work and read the newest…Donna looks so cute. Did you cut your hair lil’sis ? If you did it looks adorable on you, I like it. If it is just pulled back it still looks cute on you. I am so glad that mom and Tina are there. I wish I could be too. But, it looks like they are doing an awesome job of keeping you out of trouble and fed well. Tina was always the Queen of Baking. I remember back when you guys were still in High School and Tina was taking that Bakery class. I thought what do you do that for…..Well, now we know, but are we glad or what? Tell Dusty hello for me and tell him that we are more than blessed to have his mommy in our hearts and prayers…I’m so glad that he is taking such good care of her for us…well, off to work I go. I love you all and please mom,Tina, Donna, and Dusty please give each other a big hug and kiss for me so that I can know you feel my love……..Your sister Linda

Donna, I love your wall of crosses. Maybe I should start one. The banana pudding looks good. It almost looks like a smiley face with the vanilla wafers. I am more of a tapioca pudding person. I love your smile. I think about you and Dusty quite often. Love, Kathy

HI Girlfriend,
I hope you are comfortable and doing well. I think about you all the time and you are in my prayers. I think of calling you but I understand how tired you must feel. Just know that my heart and love goes out to you always, we don’t always need a phone call to send out our love - we know it’s there always!
Love You!
Lisa

Hello Ms. Sharp,
just wanted to say ‘hello’. Your pictures are great!! We definitely have Banana Pudding in common (love the stuff!). I had been trying to find your website and finally remembered that the ending is org, not com. Anyways, it was a pleasure meeting and speaking with you at school. Perhaps you’ll share some banana pudding sometime…??? Take care.
